Rates and Packages for Winter Session 

Wednesdays, January 21st through March 11th | 6:45–7:30 PM EST

No Class: 02/04 and 02/11

Register early to secure your spot and receive group admission details. The group email with Zoom and Lichess.org access will be sent to all registrants by Tuesday, January 20th at 10 PM.

Minimum Enrollment Deadline: Tuesday, January 20th at 9 PM. If the minimum enrollment is met by this time, the class will run. Please register soon to ensure the class runs!

Session Pricing (6 weeks):

• Standard Rate: $160
   
• JCA Member Rate: $135 

(Private students, siblings, multi-club members, and returning players from Fall Sessions)

Important Notes:

• Missed classes cannot be made up or rolled over.
   
• No refunds once the first class has begun.
   
• Minimum enrollment required.
   

First half of class:
Students will join via Zoom, where the instructor will screen share a virtual chessboard. Lessons cover world champion openings, middle game ideas, endgame patterns, tactical motifs, and key strategic elements. Students may use their own boards to recreate lessons in 3D, take notes, or simply follow along on their devices.

Second half of class:
Students participate in an arena-format online tournament on Lichess.org, allowing them to play as many games as possible within the time limit. Unlike traditional tournaments where players must wait for all games to finish and have a limited number of rounds, this format maximizes playtime with minimal waiting. All games are automatically recorded, giving students the opportunity to review their matches afterward.

Students earn keychains for their achievements, which can be exchanged for trophies:

• 8 keychains (bigger pieces) = larger trophy
   
• 10 keychains (any pieces) = medium trophy
   
• 15 keychains (any pieces) = largest trophy
   

• Students meet on Zoom and Lichess.org at 6:45 PM EST.
   
• Lessons and tournament instructions run from 6:45 to 7:05 PM.
   
• Tournament games begin promptly at 7:10 PM.
   
• Access instructions to the team room will be sent the Friday before the session starts.
